The short version
We use the small number of cookies the service needs to sign you in and keep that session safe. We do not run advertising cookies, and we do not track you across other websites.
What a cookie is
A cookie is a small file a site asks your browser to keep and send back on the next request. Without one, a website cannot tell that two requests came from the same person, which is why signing in needs one.
The cookies we set
The session and security cookies are strictly necessary. Blocking them means you cannot stay signed in, and the portal will not work.
- Session cookie: proves you are signed in so the portal can show your own applications. It is set only after you sign in, and it is removed when you sign out.
- Security cookie: protects a form submission against being triggered from another site, and helps us block automated abuse of sign in and payment.
- Preference storage: a small amount of local storage used for things like the last view you opened. It stays in your browser and is never sent to us.
What we do not use
- No advertising or retargeting cookies.
- No cross site tracking, and no sharing of browsing behaviour with data brokers.
- No cookies that profile you for marketing.
Cookies set by others
Paying the application fee hands you to our payment provider, which sets its own cookies to run the payment and to detect fraud. Those cookies are covered by that provider's own policy, and the details you enter there are held by them rather than by us.
Controlling cookies
Every browser lets you see the cookies a site has set, delete them and refuse new ones. Clearing our cookies signs you out. Refusing them stops you from signing in at all, which means the public pages stay readable but the portal does not open.
Changes to this policy
If we add a cookie, it is listed here before it is used, and the date at the top of this page changes.
Questions about this policy can go to contact@edvoyager.com, or through a support ticket.
